Two Sacramento men were arrested early Friday evening following a confrontation over a tire slashing.

According to Elk Grove Police, 25-year old Dale Roberts and 25-year old Samuel People's were in a verbal argument after Roberts observed Peoples slashing a tire on his car. When Roberts approached Peoples, he saw that Peoples had a large knife in his hand.

As Peoples approached Roberts, Roberts called 911 and then went to his vehicle and grabbed a shotgun under his seat. After loading the gun, Roberts fired a shot in the air.

Responding officers located Peoples, who was still in possession of the knife, on Tegan Road. Peoples actively resisted attempts to be put in handcuffs but was eventually placed in a restraining device and was arrested for vandalism and resisting arrest.

Police also arrested Roberts for negligent discharge of a firearm. Both men were taken to the county jail.
