Elk Grove Police Apprehend Suspected Car Thief

A keen-eyed Elk Grove Police officer was able to arrest a suspected car thief yesterday morning.

According to police reports, 42-year old Thomas Jospeh Sarantis of Sacramento was observed driving a reported stolen vehicle near Grantline Road and Graybill Lane. Officers initiated an enforcement stop and detained the suspect.

Sarantis was arrested and taken to the county jail where he remains in custody on a $115,000 bail.
