The arrest of an Elk Grove man who was on probation and had an active warrant for his arrest led to the discovery of explosive devices.

According to police reports, officers saw 24-year old Brad Cummings, who was known to have an active arrest warrant, in a vehicle being driven by 24-year old Mikaela MacRae of Elk Grove. A vehicle stop near Elk Grove-Florin Road and Emerald Park Drive led to the arrest of Cummings.

A further vehicle search led to the discovert of narcotics in MaRae's backpack who was also arrested. A subsequent probation search of Cummings' residence led to the discovery of ammunition and explosive devices.

Both were taken to the county jail where Cummings remains  in custody on a $1,040,000 bail while MaCrae was released on bail earlier today.

"Explosive devices"?
What? An old roll of caps (I know my age is showing)? A box of cracker balls?
A couple of kinked whistling pets?
Primers used in load-your-own-shells?
Black powder for a muzzle loader?
A string of firecrackers?
Pipe bombs?
Live grenades?
Homemade pipe bombs?
Dynamite?
