Suspect Arrested by EGPD After Fleeing Accident

An Elk Grove woman was arrested after she was suspected of drunk driving and fleeing the scene of an accident Monday afternoon.

According to Elk Grove Police, 53-year old Sandra Dee Schulz was involved in a vehicle accident near Laguna Blvd. and Laguna Springs Drive and did not stop to exchange information. The driver of the other vehicle called police and followed Schulz.

Responding officers contacted Schulz at her residence where she displayed objective signs of impairment. The suspect failed a field sobriety test and was arrested after being medically cleared. The suspect has been released from custody.
