A Sacramento parolee suspected of stealing a car led Elk Grove Police on a vehicle and foot pursuit last night.

According to police reports, officers spotted a car being driven by 28-year old Anthony Cordova of Sacramento that had been reported stolen. When officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop near Elk Grove-Florin and Calvine roads, Cordova did not yield and led officers on a 5.6 mile pursuit.

The vehicle pursuit ended on the 8400 block of German Drive when the suspect hit a car port. After the collision, Cordova fled on foot but was eventually chased down by officers.

During the apprehension, the suspect reportedly resisted arrest. Cordova remains in custody at the county jail on five charges and is ineligible for bail for violating parole terms.
