For the three days ending at Midnight last night, Elk Grove Police made five arrests for driving under the influence. While the number of Elk Grove DUI weekend arrest is fairly normal, the composition of those arrested reflect a change in the profile of suspects - of the five people arrrested this weekend, three were females.

According to 2011 FBI statistics, female drivers made up about 25 percent of drunk drivers that year compared to about 9.3 percent in the 1980.  A 2013 national study, which in part was conducted in San Joaquin County, cites numerous causes and possible solutions.

Among the female suspect arrested this weekend include 21-year old MacKenzie Moule of Sloughouse, 30-year old Ashley Linn of Elk Grove and 25-year old Erin Malone of Stockton. Police also arrested 24-year old Rakairi Route of Elk Grove and 23-year old Brian Seymour of Elk Grove.
