A 14-year old male victim was assaulted by three male juveniles and beaten unconscious last night in Elk Grove.

According to Elk Grove Police, the victim was walking near Tarzo Way and Tremezzo Way when he was approached by three teen suspects aged 15 and 13, one of which was from Sacramento and the other two from Elk Grove, and began to kick and punch the victim to the point he was unconscious.

The suspects then reportedly stole a cell phone from the victim's pocket and fled to a nearby apartment complex. Through investigative efforts, officers located and detained the suspects inside an apartment in the 9900 block of Bruceville Rd.

The three suspects were positively identified by witnesses as being responsible for the robbery. The stolen cell phone was located inside the apartment bedroom where the suspects were found.

The three suspects were taken into custody then transported to juvenile hall. No medical status of the victim was provided in the police report.

It is fortunate that there are still witnesses in this neighborhood who are willing to act as witnesses. No surprise they found these thugs hiding in an apartment. My hunch is that as the city expands, and more gang-bangers start trading their drugs from the affordable housing units that will pop up, witnesses will not be so cooperative. Mark my word, that day will come in the next decade or so.
