An Elk Grove man is being held on $175,000 bail after an alleged domestic violence incident that happened last night.

According to Elk Grove Police, 24-year old Asad Ali was involved in an argument with his vicitm that escalated into a physical altercation. During the course of the altercation, Ali allegedly attempted to choke his victim at which time a witness intervened and got him off the victim

Ali also allegedly physically threatened the person intervening in the incident. Responding officers arrested Ali and discovered he used his cell phone to secretly record the encounter without their knowledge. 

Ali is in custody at the county jail and is facing four felony charges including corporal injury to a spouse or co-inhabitant, domestic violence, threats of violence, and eavesdropping.
