A known Elk Grove probationer was arrested yesterday afternoon on suspicion of three felony weapon charges after he was observed driving a vehicle with an expired registration.

According to Elk Grove Police, 18-year old Khalil Mustafa Sabree parked his car near Silhouette Drive and Wild Orchid Way and exited. After exiting, Sabree walked away and was contacted by an officer.

Because he was known to be on probation, Sabree was detained and handcuffed. A probation search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded unregistered handgun.

Sabree was arrested and taken to the county jail where he remains in custody on a $100,000 bail.
