A Sacramento man was arrested yesterday morning after he allegedly fired and hit a retail store employee with an airsoft pellet gun.

According to Elk Grove Police, 22-year old DeMarcus Knowles entered the Bel Air store on Elk Grove-Florin Road and concealed merchandise on his person. When confronted by a store employee who recovered the merchandise, Knowles allegedly pulled out the non-lethal gun and shot the employee under the chin.

As Knowles exited the store, he reportedly pointed the gun again at the employee and fled north on Elk Grove-Florin. After Elk Grove Police located Knowles, he reportedly fired the weapon at the patrol car.

Officers were able to apprehend the suspect who was arrested and is being held at the county jail on $20,000 bail. The store employee was uninjured.
