Elk Grove Hit-and-Run Suspect Apprehended, in Custody

The man suspected of a hit-and-run accident was apprehended following a multi-agency search this morning.

According to Elk Grove Police, 40 year old John Kariuki Minju of Sacramento was apprehended on the 7900 block of Symington Way. Minju was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and leaving the scene of a vehicle accident causing bodily harm.

Minju allegedly was involved in an accident at Elk Grove-Florin and Sheldon roads while driving a Toyota 4Runner. The suspect is alleged to have collided with an Elk Grove Police patrol unit and another vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot. 

Minju is being held in custody at the county jail on $60,000 bail.
