The vigilance of a witness to residential break-in led to the arrest yesterday afternoon by Elk Grove Police.

According to police reports, 32-year old Darryus James Hawkins of Sacramento was allegedly seen kicking-in the front door and entering a residence on the 9600 block of Webb Street. When Hawkins left the residence, the witness followed him until officers arrived.

After being positively identified by the witness, Hawkins was arrested and booked into the county jail. Hawkins is facing three felony charges including carrying a concealed weapon, burglary, and violating terms of his probation and is ineligible for bail.
