An Elk Grove man is being held on five felony charges after an alleged Sunday morning domestic violence incident.

According to Elk Grove Police, 42-year old Demetrius Coleman was involved in an argument with his victim that escalated into a physical altercation. During the course of the altercation, Coleman allegedly attempted to stab his victim with a BBQ fork and poured bleach on the victim's head and face that resulted in visible injuries. 

Prior to fleeing the scene, Coleman also reportedly took the victim's cell phone, car keys and cash. Responding officers located the suspect a short distance away.

Coleman was arrested and is being held at the county jail on a $240,000 bail. The suspect faces five felony charges including robbery, domestic violence, corporal injury to a spouse or co-inhabitant, assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a caustic chemical.
