A Sacramento woman was arrested Friday morning after she allegedly tried passing counterfeit cash at an Elk Grove retailer.

According to Elk Grove Police, 32-year old Diana Vega was detained by an employee at the Hobby Lobby on East Stockton Boulevard after she tried passing counterfeit cash. Responding officers contacted Vega who initially gave false information about her identity.

After determining her correct identity, a records check revealed that Vega also had an active warrant out for her arrest. After being arrested, a search of Vega's vehicle led to the discovery of  more counterfeit cash and the equipment to make the bills.
