An Under-the-influence Suspect Robs Bank, Apprehended by Elk Grove Police

Elk Grove bank robbery

November 19, 2015

Yesterday afternoon Elk Grove Police apprehended a man suspected of robbing an Elk Grove bank who was reportedly under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to police reports, 20-year old James David Joseph (pictured above) entered the Chase Bank on Elk Grove Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard, approached a teller and verbally demanded money. After the teller complied with the suspect's demands, he fled on foot and entered a nearby grocery store.

Responding officers apprehended Joseph after he exited the store without incident. Joseph was found in possession of the stolen cash, and was positively identified as the robber. Officers also determined that he was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Joseph was booked into the county jail where he remains in custody on $50,000 bail. He is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow afternoon.

Only $5,000 bail?

He can get out, get stoned and try to rob someone else.

The next person that he tries to rob might be a concealed weapon permit holder who will blow his brains out.

Oh well, we need more organ donors!
