Elk Grove Veterans Day Parade Street Closure Advisory

This Wednesday Elk Grove will hold its annual Veterans Day Parade. A new parade route has been introduced to improve safety for participants and spectators.

Ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. at the Elk Grove Shopping Center located at 9108 Elk Grove-Florin Road. Beginning at 11 a.m., the parade will follow the new route, proceeding south on Elk Grove-Florin Road to Elk Grove Regional Park.  The parade route will require that the following streets be closed from 9:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

·       Elk Grove Boulevard will be closed to all traffic from Williamson Drive to 3^rd Street.  All intersecting roads will be blocked.

·       Elk Grove-Florin Road will be closed to all traffic from Halverson Drive to the main entrance of Elk Grove Park.  All intersecting roads will be blocked.

·       Vehicles travelling Eastbound on Elk Grove Boulevard approaching Williamson Drive will be diverted onto westbound Elk Grove Boulevard.  Drivers are encouraged to use Bond Road as an alternate route. 

·       Vehicles travelling westbound on Elk Grove Boulevard approaching 3^rd Stret will be diverted onto eastbound Elk Grove Boulevard.  Drivers are encouraged to use Bond Road as an alternate route. 

·       Vehicles travelling southbound on Elk Grove-Florin Road approaching Halverson Drive will be diverted onto Halverson Drive or directed to make a U-Turn. 

·       All northbound traffic on Elk Grove-Florin Road approaching the entrance to Elk Grove Park entrance will be diverted back onto southbound Elk Grove-Florin Road.
