C-Span to Honor Elk Grove's Franklin High School Students Award Winning Documentary

C‑SPAN will visit Elk Grove's Franklin High School tomorrow morning to honor three students for their award-winning entry in the StudentCam video documentary competition. 

During the visit, a C-SPAN representative will present a StudentCam certificates of merit to Madeleine Tokunaga, Gensen Danipog, and Nathan Dang. The ceremony will be held in front of classmates, teachersfamily members, and elected officials to recognize their achievement in the national competition. 

Tokunaga, Danipog and Dang's video, which was recognized in the Honorable Mention category, Degree in Debt deals with student loans and the escalating costs of a college education. All entries in the competition were asked to address what's the issue YOU most want candidates to discuss during the 2016 presidential campaign?”



C‑SPAN received 2,887 video submissions from almost 6,000 students in 45 states and Washington, DC. 150 student and 53 teacher prizes were awarded, totaling $100,000 in prize money. Visit www.studentcam.org to watch all the winning videos for 2016.
