Seventh Annual Walk to Remember in Elk Grove To Honor Fallen Soldiers

March 28, 2016 |

The Seventh Annual Walk to Remember will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Elk Grove Regional Park.

Walk to Remember honors SFC Bryan E. Hall, of Elk Grove, and four other soldiers killed in combat in Mosul, Iraq, on April 10, 2009. The walk is a 5K.

“While we honor Bryan and the four men who died that day, it is our focus to honor all veterans and those who are currently serving," Betty Hall, mother of SFC Hall said. "It is important, and especially for young people to understand, that freedom isn’t really free; there is a price that has to be paid by both the soldiers and the families they leave behind.”

All proceeds from the walk will be split between the Bryan E. Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund and an education fund established for Hall's nine-year old daughter, Addison. Refreshments will be served at registration and the walk concludes with a luncheon.

For further more contact Betty Hall by phone at 916.685.5170 or via email at bettymhall@aol.com.

Check in begins at 9 a.m. and opening ceremonies an hour later. Registration fees, by category, and more information are available at  www.WalkToRememberBryanHall.com
