In-Progress Burglary Suspect Arrested by Elk Grove Police

April 29, 2016 |

A Sacramento man was arrested late last night after Elk Grove Police responded to an in-progress burglary.

Police officers were dispatched to the 8600 block of Golden Sage Drive on the city's north central side regarding the burglary. The caller indicated that an unknown suspect was kicking in the front door of the residence.

Responding officers observed a vehicle driving without headlights leaving the area and conducted an enforcement stop. Upon contact, 24-year old Kevin Ellis (pictured above) displayed objective signs of impairment and was positively identified as the person involved in the attempted burglary.

A search of Ellis' vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana. Ellis was arrested and booked into the county jail where he is being held on a $60,000 bail and faces one misdemeanor and four felony charges.
