A Sacramento man was arrested Saturday afternoon on suspicion of assault after he was found trespassing in an Elk Grove backyard.

Timothy Maynor (pictured above), 24, was observed trespassing in the backyard of a residence on the 9300 block of Scottsview Court in the Laguna neighborhood. When confronted by the homeowner, Maynor started to chase the victim.

The homeowner ran to a neighbor’s house for help and was punched in the face by Maynor. When the  neighbor observed the assault, he came out to help the victim and confronted Maynor

During the confrontation, Maynor and the neighbor were involved in a physical altercation. Responding officers arrived and took Maynor into custody.

After he was medically cleared, Maynor was booked into the county jail where he remains in custody on felony assault charges with a bail of $80,000. Maynor is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday afternoon.
