Fuentes Maintains Lead Over Orrock For Third Seat on CCSD

In the race for the third position on the Cosumnes Community Services District, challenger Orlando Fuentes has widened his lead over incumbent Michelle Orrock.

According to results posted at 11:48 p.m., Fuentes has 9,906 votes to Orrock's 9,550 votes for a lead of 356. Orrock, first elected to the CCSD Board of Directors in 2008, is seeking her third four-year term.

Although the seats on the CCSD or non-partisan, should Fuentes prevail he would be the third Democratic member on the board. Fuentes would join incumbent Gil Albaini who is currently in first place, and Director Rod Brewer who was not up for election.

The other candidates seeking seats are Jim Luttrell who is firmly in second place and David Beales who is trailing Fuentes and Orrock in fifth place.
