Although results are not final, it appears Sacramento Transportation Authority's 30-year 1/2 sales tax increase will narrowly lose.

With all 1267 precincts reporting, the measure has gained 66.02-percent, or 102,639 yes votes compared to 52,823 no votes. To be approved, the measure needs a super majority of 66.66-percent.

The measure is seeking to hike sales taxes in Sacramento County to fund a variety of transportation projects, including the controversial Southeast Connector Project connecting Elk Grove along Grant Line Road to Folsom and El Dorado Hills.
