Turlock Man Wanted by Santa Clara County Apprehended by Elk Grove Police

A Turlock, Calif. man wanted by Santa Clara County was arrested after providing false information to Elk Grove, Calf. police officers.

On the late evening of November 13, 51-year-old man Gilbert Moreno was contacted by officers from the Elk Grove Police Department following a vehicle accident near Grant Line Road and Elk Grove Boulevard. Upon contact, Moreno verbally provided several different names and birth dates. 

A wallet belonging to Moreno was located on the ground outside of a vehicle near the front bumper. A search of the wallet led to the discovery of a controlled substance. 

A records check revealed that Santa Clara County had a warrant with a bail of $250,000 out for his arrest. Moreno was arrested, booked into the county jail and is being held for Santa Clara County as well as one felony and misdemeanor charges.
