Elk Grove Man Arrested on Suspicion of False Imprisonment, Rape

A man with four active warrants, including one for rape, was taken into custody by Elk Grove Police.

On the late afternoon of Monday, July 31, police arrested Amit Bharth, 40, of Elk Grove on the 9400 block of Sea Cliff Way for four outstanding criminal warrants. The warrants include false imprisonment, assault by the means of force likely to produce great bodily injury; rape by means of force, violence, duress, menace or fear; and oral copulation by means of force, violence, duress, menace or fear.

Bharth is being held on $800,000 bail at the county jail. Arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, August 2.
