Man Suspected of Burglarizing CBS 13 Caught, Arrested After Being Spotted by News Staff

A man suspected of burglarizing CBS 13's bureau office in Stockton on more than one occasion was apprehended today.

Shortly after 12 p.m. today, a CBS news crew member observed a suspect identified as Alex "Mookie" Lopez, 32, who had been described as the person who had previously burglarized their facility on the 500 block of West Weber Street. Responding Stockton Police officers detained Lopez near Market and Center streets.

After being detained, officers  Lopez was allegedly found in possession of items taken from two previous burglaries of the bureau office. Lopez is being held at the San Joaquin County Jail on $116,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Monday, August 28.
