Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested by Elk Grove Police Allegedly Tried Kidnapping Victim

An Elk Grove man is being held on five felony and two misdemeanor charges following an alleged domestic violence incident where he attempt to kidnap his victim.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 16, Peter Nguyen, 21, went to the residence of the victim and began banging on the front door. When the door opened, Nguyen allegedly proceeded to repeatedly slap, choke, and push the victim.

When the victim tried to escape, Nguyen reportedly prevented the attempt. When the victim tried calling 911, he allegedly took the phone away and chased the victim out of the residence, and attempted to drag the victim into his vehicle. 

Nguyen fled the scene and was later apprehended by Elk Grove Police, arrested and booked into the county jail. The suspect faces felony kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault, threats, and domestic violence charges and is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday, October 18.

The victim suffered visible injuries during the incident and was granted an emergency protective order.
