Chico Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Charges of Filming Sexual Abuse of a Child

A Chico, California man entered a plea of guilty to federal charges of productions of child pornography. The plea was submitted at the U.S. District Court in Sacramento on Friday, January 12. 

According to court documents, between January 1, 2012, and December 1, 2014, Nathan Alexander Drury, 39 filmed a 47-second video of a nude child who was under the age of 12. The video that Drury produced shows the child being sexually abused.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Chico Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian A. Fogerty prosecuted the case.

Drury has been in custody since he was arrested on March 23, 2015.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 6 by U.S. District Judge Garland E. Burrell Jr. Drury faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison. 

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
