Man Shot, Killed in North Sacramento

The Sacramento Sheriffs Department reports that a man was shot and killed late last night in a north Sacramento neighborhood.

Just before 10 p.m. deputies were dispatched to Edison Avenue and Truax Court after receiving several 911 calls regarding gunshots. When they arrived, deputies located a man inside a vehicle who have sustained several gunshot wounds.

Deputies provided first-aid and performed life-saving measures on the victim but he was later pronounced dead by arriving personnel from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department. At this time, investigators have not identified a motive for this crime and have not yet established any suspect information.

The identity of the victim will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office after notification has been made to his next of kin.
