Suspected Drunk Driver Loses Control of Car, Arrested by Elk Grove Police After Pursuit

An Elk Grove man is in custody at the Sacramento County Jail After he led police on a vehicle pursuit.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, Elk Grove Police patrol officers observed a vehicle driven by Jesus O. Ventura, 27 being operated in a reckless manner near Bruceville Road and West Stockton Boulevard. Ventura reportedly lost control of the vehicle and struck the center median. 

Officers attempted an enforcement stop, but instead of yielding, Ventura fled at a high rate of speed. After going a short distance, Ventura stopped and was detained.

A field sobriety test allegedly showed the suspect was driving under the influence. Ventura was arrested, booked into the county jail and will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 5.
