On Tuesday, September 18, the Sacramento chapter of the League of Women Voters held a candidate forum for the Elk Grove City Council Districts 2 and 4 races. The few voters who attended were not offered any new information or insight from the candidates, with one exception.

Not only did Andres Ramos shine, but he was also clearly the winner over all four candidates.

However, what was even more peculiar were incumbent Pat Hume’s mannerisms. Several long-time council watchers noticed that Hume seemed nervous and appeared to be sweating. At one point, his facial expressions became somewhat contorted.

What was even more curious is that Hume, who is known for his long-winded diatribes, absent notes, couldn’t even get through his own two-minute introductory bio without deliberate silent pauses to refer to his notes.

Nothing is certain in Election 2018 as we have seen around the Country. The mighty can fall, even in Elk Grove!
