Debt recovery company with specialty in medical accounts to consolidate offices, bring 100 collection agents to Elk Grove

A Los Angeles-based company that is reportedly the largest privately held collection agency in the United States, will locate operations to Elk Grove accord to information released by the City of Elk Grove.

UCSB, which says it "provides strategic business process outsourcing and full-service accounts receivable management solutions to Healthcare providers, Retail and Banking creditors, as well as government Municipalities" has announced plans to consolidate regional operations in Elk Grove. The firm will lease 15,000 square feet from Pappas Development at their office facility on Longleaf Drive.

The move to Elk Grove will shutter UCSB offices in Lodi and Sacramento. When occupied, 100 of the company's 500 employees will be domiciled in the Elk Grove facility, one of five facilities in California and Nevada.

The lease was negotiated by Steven Seinfeld with the Sacramento office of Washington DC-based Cresa. Terms of the lease were not released and no move-in date was provided.

According to the Lemberg Law firm, there have been at least eight complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau against UCSB.  Lemberg's page on UCSB practices can be viewed here.

In addition to providing collection services, UCSB offers several other back-office operations to their clients. According to their website, they also offer "resource staffing, insurance billing, claims follow-up and denial management programs."

Did the city of Elk Grove give this company any taxpayer incentives to open an office in Elk Grove? Or maybe better called, "The Darrell Doan Fund!"

DOAN SCORES!

As I eagerly await the upcoming blitz of City press releases and TV news coverage, I am just so proud of our crack economic development team scoring a collection agency that according to the company web site, pays their collection agents $11-$17/hr! Auto dealers and realtors get ready, The Grove Collection Mecca is upon us!

Perhaps they moved here to be closer to a customer (I won't mention names but he or she is the Mayor of Elk Grove) who didn't pay their credit card bills... allegedly.
