Elk Grove resident awakes to find burglar in house, suspects arrested by police



An Elk Grove resident awoken by noises in the house found an intruder inside their dwelling.

Just after 6 a.m. on Friday, June 1 the victim, who was awoken by noises, found a person later identified as Kristin Toomey, 37, of Sacramento in the house. After being discovered, Toomey fled the house with property with another suspect later identified as MorganRichard Kidwell, 36, of Sacramento.

Responding officers located the suspect near the residence that was burglarized on the 9100 block of Rancho Drive. Both suspects were detained and officers learned they were on probation.

Toomey and Kidwell were arrested and booked into the county jail multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. Arraignment is on Tuesday, June 25.
