A seemingly routine traffic stop by Elk Grove Police led to the seizure of 30 pounds of illegal marijuana.

Just after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, Elk Grove Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on the 6800 block of Bellaterra Drive. Police learned the motorist, Hang Lin, 41, of Elk Grove was on probation.

A probation search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 30 pounds of marijuana. A search of Lin's residence revealed indicia related to marijuana cultivation.

Lin is held at the county jail and is not eligible for bail. Arraignment is on Thursday, October 24.
