Cosumnes Community Services District to consider maps for 2020 by-district elections

As part of their process of transitioning to by-district elections for the 2020 elections, the Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors will consider four maps at their Tuesday, November 6 regular meeting.

The district, which decided to voluntarily convert from their longstanding at-large system last February, will establish five districts. As part of the process of choosing which maps will be adopted, the directors are also required to select the sequencing of elections (see proposed maps below, click on image to enlarge).

According to the staff report, three districts could be placed on the ballot for the 2020 election and the other two in 2022. Or it could select hybrids in which all five would be on the 2020 ballot, then in 2022 two would be up for reelection and the other three in 2024, or three in 2022 and two in 2024.

Tuesday's meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
