For this edition of Elk Grove News Minute, longtime EGN commenter, satirist, and contributor DJ Blutarsky assists in an ode about one community member who has become a shell of their former self, or at least of the former self they presented to the public.

The written ode can be viewed on the next page of this posting - link below.

Ode to Elk Grove's Hollow Person

One day a person grifted into our fair city
With proclamations, they would make everything very, very pretty

With their message of hope and love
The person was really acting as if they were a gift from above

Presenting themselves as a true of heart
to deliver us from the representative of former we must part

Stealing the work of many, many others
On the surface, they appealed to fathers and mothers

Before long they became entranced with money, power
As they spoke and kicked down on thou from their tower

This person was not, it seemed, the same
What they really wanted, in truth, was fame

As the person over and over moved about town
They were soon viewed as nothing but a sad, sad clown

And now this clown no one with respect will follow

This is the sad, sad tale of Elk Grove’s person who in fact was forever hollow

I guess it's just not me, looks like others believe that our former mayor has ruined whatever legacy he may have established as councilman and mayor.

He's become a rather pathetic figure, and one not standing up for the citizens, but for the money grabbers who care not about the city at all. Sarah Johnson would be mortified. Mr. Emeritus should be embarrassed.
