Robbery crew arrested by Rocklin Police tied to multi-city crime spree including Elk Grove

Report: Alabama police nabbed Lexington kidnapping, burglary ...

A five-member robbery crew was arrested in Rocklin that police investigators believe are tied to several crimes including some in Elk Grove

Leandre James Ward, 20, of Rancho Cordova, and four juvenile suspects were arrested on Sunday, May 3 for two recent robberies in Rocklin and Roseville.

The first robbery occurred on April 10 on the 2200 block of Sunset Boulevard in Rocklin when the four suspects assaulted a female victim in a parking lot and stole her purse. At the time of that robbery, Rocklin Police Department detectives tied that robbery to similar ones that happened in Elk Grove and Lincoln.

On Sunday, May 3 just before 2:30 p.m. the group staged another robbery, this time in Roseville. During this robbery, they attacked an elderly man and attempted to steal his wallet in the parking lot of the 400 block of Roseville Square.

Responding officers were able to locate their vehicle and officers took five suspects into custody. Ward and four juveniles were arrested for robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The only adult, Ward, was booked at the South Placer Jail.  The four juveniles were booked at the Placer County Juvenile Hall.

The Elk Grove crime where the five suspects may have been involved in is ongoing and details cannot be released at this time.
