John Hull's Elk Grove Sports Minute - Larson now officially back in NASCAR

Kyle Larson is now officially back in NASCAR. After several months of speculation, Larson Thursday signed a multi-year deal with Hendrick Motorsports to drive the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro in NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup series beginning in 2021.

Larson was suspended in March by NASCAR and later fired by car owner Chip Ganassi for uttering a racial slur during a televised I-Racing event.

He has since underwent sensitivity training and had posted a lengthy apology and explanation on his personal website. It was announced late last week Larson shut down his sprint car garage, a move many auto racing enthusiasts saw as an indication he would be returning to the NASCAR Cup series, where is was the rookie of the year in 2014.
