The next logical election reform in Elk Grove should be a runoff system similar to what Sacramento city has. If there is no majority winner during the primary, there would be a runoff in the general election. Someone like Mr. Suen might support that given his overwhelming margin of victory, but I doubt Mr. Spease would initially be supportive given he is taking office with only about one-third of the votes casts in District 3.
Capt. to costly for our city. Looking at District 3 is a prime example if you are going to run you need to win not just have your name on a ballot. 2nd place was a no name, not involved in our city other than his personal contacts. No one knew of Mr. Singh outside his circle until he announced he was running. I am sure Maureen would of done better as well Lynn if he hadn’t ran an vise versa for Mr. Singh. We citizens should not have to pay the price for a run off. Mr. Spease win was not even close. Moving forward it would be a good idea when people want to run they fully realize who their opponents are as they can always bow out early on.
Randy Bekker, I find your comment offensive, saying that Mr. Singh is a "no name" as you put it. Who are you to label people whether they have "name" or not? Shame on you!
Eye on Elk Grove you sure get offended easily. This isn't the first time you were offended by something.
