Singh-Allen maintains consistent lead over Ly in Elk Grove mayor's race

The latest tallies released by Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections shows challenger Bobbie Singh-Allen has maintained her lead over incumbent Steve Ly in the Elk Grove mayoral race.

The last update at 1:15 a.m. today shows Singh-Allen with 20,218 votes or 46-percent to Ly's 15,159 votes or 35-percent. The third candidate, Brian Pastor has received 7,077 votes for 17-percent.

Even though Singh-Allen has maintained the lead from the first release of voting data just after 8 p.m. on election night, she has stopped short of declaring victory. In a video she posted after 1 a.m. (see below) this morning, the current Elk Grove Unified School District Trustee struck an optimistic note and thanked her supporters.

According to Political Data Inc., as of Monday, over 63,000 Elk Grove ballots had been received by the county. This does not include any ballots submitted on Tuesday and the latest results show that 43,084 votes have been counted in the mayor's race.

As of 4 a.m. today Ly has not released a statement on the current vote status.
