This morning the Elk Grove Police Department announced that Capt. Paul Solomon was promoted to Assistant Police Chief. Solomon replaces Bobby Davis who was promoted to Police Chief.
“Assistant Chief Solomon has lived in Elk Grove and has been a public servant for over 29 years,” Chief Davis said. “Additionally, Assistant Chief Solomon has worked as a supervisor or manager in every Elk Grove Police Department service area. I am so excited for what he will bring to the organization in his new role and how much he will add to the future of our agency.”
Solomon has over 29 years of law enforcement experience and has been with the Elk Grove Police Department since 2006. During his career here at the Elk Grove Police Department, Assistant Chief Solomon has risen through the ranks from Sergeant, to Lieutenant, to Captain, and now our Assistant Chief of Police.
A longtime Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Sacramento board member and Board President, Solomon holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, a minor in psychology, and a master’s degree in human relations and business. Additionally, Solomon has completed the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute for Police and the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training Executive Development Course.
“I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to work with Chief Davis as he guides the department into the future, "Solomon said in the announcement. "I look forward to continuing serving alongside the hard-working and dedicated members of the Elk Grove Police Department as we partner with the community on strategies to improve the quality of life in our city.”
Assistant Chief Solomon will be sworn in by Chief Davis at our Promotion Ceremony on April 21, 2022, at 10 am at The Center at District 56. The community is welcome to attend this ceremony.
