An update on the Elk Grove City Clerk's webpage shows another person has drawn candidacy papers for the city's District 4 City Council race.
That candidate is Giezi Bermudez. According to information on LinkedIn, Bermudez is the Deputy Director of Asian Resources Inc.
District 4 Elk Grove City Councilmember Stephanie Nguyen is the Executive Director of Asian Resources. This November, Nguyen is running for the District 10 California State Assembly.
The deadline for the return of paperwork to qualify for the November election is 5 p.m., Friday, August 12. The one candidate who has qualified for the ballot, Elk Grove Planning Commissioner Sergio Robles, has been endorsed by Nguyen.
The other person who drew papers was Thong Phan-Quang, who decided against candidacy.
