The Elk Grove Police Department has announced they will be conducting a DUI and driver's license checkpoint.

The checkpoint will be conducted between 7 p.m., Friday, August 3, and 3 a.m., Saturday, August 4. As a matter of policy, the location of the checkpoint is not disclosed. 

According to the EGPD, "The checkpoint will focus on removing impaired drivers, as well as unlicensed drivers from the roadways. Educational materials covering the dangers of driving under the influence will also be handed out to motorists."
