Wilton Rancheria presents ceremonial $1 million check to Elk Grove

Celebrating its first year of operation, representatives of Wilton Rancheria's Sky River Casino presented a ceremonial check to the Elk Grove City Council. The presentation was at this evening's city council meeting.

Sky River's vice president of government affairs, Joshua Green, presented the payment to the city council. Joining Green was casino president Chris Gibase.

"We are more than happy to present this check tonight," Gibase said. "It's a sign of a lot of good things to come."

Sky River Casino opened on August 15, 2022. The Wilton Rancheria has agreed to pay Elk Grove $4 million annually to mitigate law enforcement costs and the state gaming compact calls for $132 million in payments over 20 years.
