Suspected shoplifters arrested by Elk Grove Police, $4,000 in merchandise recovered

Elk Grove Police arrested three suspects on various charges last week in what they described as organized retail theft.

The suspects, Alfred Montalvo, 33, Don Clemons, 31, and Kysiah Jones, 27, reportedly entered an unnamed retailer and stole approximately $4,000 of merchandise on the evening of Tuesday, November 21. One of the suspects left the scene in a vehicle while the others fled on foot.

With the assistance of the Sacramento Police Department's Air1 helicopter, the trio were apprehended. They are charged with grand theft, probation violation, resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine, organized retail theft, and conspiracy to commit felony crimes.

Images from EGPD suggest the trio stole blue jeans and other trousers and were apprehended near Calvine and Elk Grove-Florin roads.

Clemons is in custody at the Sacramento County Jail and is not eligible for bail. Arraignment is scheduled for this afternoon.

There is no record of Jones and Montalvo being in custody at the county jail.
