The Orange Crusader or Forrest Gump--does it really matter which one ends up running our little ToonTown?
The real question is, can our 250-year old country survive those next four years? YES!
History, it has been said, is written by the victors. If Trump wins and subverts our institutions and democratic traditions, he and his supporters will say our democracy has grown stronger whether or not it is true. The question will be answered when Trump's second term ends in 2029. Will there be another January 6 in 2029, especially if a Democratic candidate wins?
Dear DJ:
So you say it doesn't matter who's running the republic for the next 4 years? Really?
Trump has threatened to rebuke the Constitution and he's well established his desire to always do what's best for himself rather than his country. He's a liar, an idiot, a hater of our military troops and a narcissist among a truck load of other negative adjectives that could be applied here.
Yes, it matters who's in the oval office. I wish I shared your belief that we, as a Republic, can survive four more years under Trump. This time he'll have his entire cabinet made up of his blind supporters unlike he did in his previous term. There will will no one to stop him when he leads us into war, drops the bomb, causes increased poverty and homelessness and creates more despair to the middle class and perhaps allow the next pandemic to be as deadly as the last one he ignored until 100,00's died. Let's all vote "blue" and keep that dictator out of our White House.
