Users fees for Elk Grove's District56 facilities, aquatics center increasing

Even though they have recently eased, in the post-COVID-19 era, consumers of every type have faced inflationary pressures. That includes the various operations of the city of Elk Grove.

To address these inflationary effects, the city is increasing user fees for the rental of District56 facilities and the aquatics center. The across-the-board fees will be hiked by about 10 percent.

According to a public hearing notice, the cost has increased for the Cosumnes Community Services District, the contracted operator of the facilities. The hearing notice states, "The fees align with recently adopted CCSD fees and are comparable to other municipal aquatic facilities within the region."

While most fees are increasing by about 10 percent, some categories have significant increases. Rental fees for recreation Pool/Treasure Island for up to 100 guest for private pool party rental for 2 hours will double from $175 to $350 for non-Laguna Ridge Elk Grove residents.

Another category that increased by more than 10 percent is the swimming pool rental for eight-plus hours for competitive meets. That cost is increasing from $2,500 to $3,000.

In several categories, Laguna Ridge residents receive a slight discount. When the city adopted fees for District 56 facilities, Laguna Ridge residents were granted reduced fees because they paid for the facility through Mello Roos fees.

The Elk Grove City Council will approve the fees during the meeting on December 13. The new fee structure can be viewed below.
