Convicted child molester sentenced to 276 years by Sacramento Superior Court Judge

Yesterday Sacramento Superior Court Judge Delbert Oros sentenced convicted child molester Sanjay Kumar to 276 years in state prison.

On December 22, 2023, Kumar was convicted by a jury of one count of lewd acts upon a child and 30 counts of forcible lewd acts upon a child. The jury also found Kumar guilty of committing lewd acts upon multiple victims, substantial sexual conduct on both victims, occupying a position of trust with both victims, using planning, sophistication, and professionalism to commit his assaults, and that both victims were particularly vulnerable.

Kumar began sexually assaulting the first victim when she was approximately 4 years old. Hand the second when she turned 9 years old. Throughout the time Kumar was sexually assaulting the victims, he also physically assaulted them and told them to keep it a secret. The victims feared that if they reported the abuse, Kumar would hurt them.
