Elk Grove Vice Mayor Rod Brewer commenting on the city council's priority projects. | |
During their January 24 meeting, the mayor and Elk Grove City Council members heard a presentation on the status of their priority projects.
After hearing the update and report from the innovations department's Aishwarya Kumar, Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen invited her councilmen to comment on the findings. Among those speaking was District 2 representative Vice Mayor Rod Brewer.
During his remarks, the first-term councilman offered, at times, muddled comments on the presentation. Among the noteworthy comments was an overnight skillet analogy.

Hey Mr. Crockpot, the point of the public comment was not what's taking so long, but why only report the successful projects and not mention the priority projects that either failed or on delay. Be transparent!
You're misunderstanding the Vice Mayors analogy. He's speaking to all the people who have little understanding of the process and helping with the crockpot and skillet analogy that most of us understand. This is perhaps not even a crockpot problem and after losing $50,000. on this failed project so far we may have to resort to even pickling it.
Have patience, practice makes perfect...perhaps not financially, but that Measure E money keeps rolling in so we're good.
"Some things take a little faster". Huh?
Mr. Brewer ought to channel Mark Twain. "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt".
There's a reason the Captain is an officer. He's observant and analytical. Funny, too!
The citizens are asking for transparency, but instead, we get an analogy on food.
