UPDATE - Elk Grove Police take 13-year old involved in stolen vehicle accident that caused life-threatening injuries into custody


Elk Grove Police report that a 13-year old suspect is in custody after allegedly causing a vehicle accident resulting in a life-threatening injury.

According to police information, on the late evening hours of Monday, June 3 officers were pursuing a stolen vehicle. The driver of the stolen Toyota Sienna hit an uninvolved vehicle at the intersection of Franklin and Laguna boulevards.

The collision caused a life-threatening injury to the occupant of the uninvolved vehicle. The injured person was taken to an area hospital.

Police took the driver of the stolen vehicle, the 13-year old suspect into custody, There has been no further report on the injured person.    

UPDATED 1:30 p.m. - The 55-year old male victim hit during the collision has succumbed to the injuries. His name will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner. 

The juvenile suspect was arrested on charges including felony evading, felony evading resulting in serious injury or death, and later booked at Juvenile Hall.
