Elk Grove cooling center operation extended during heat wave

Public Service Announcement from city of Elk Grove, effective 6 p.m. Sunday, July 7.

Mother Nature is keeping the blast furnace on a few more days in our region. And with more than 40 visitors to the Cooling Center since it opened on July 1, we have decided to extended its operation through Tuesday, July 9. We'll continue to monitor conditions and may extend it even further into the week if it's necessary. Anyone lacking adequate cooling options is welcome to the cooling center, even pets! Open Noon to 8 p.m. at the Wackford Complex (9014 Bruceville Road)
